Eligibility Criteria for Broad Specialty Postgraduate Program in Medicine
Eligibility to enroll in a ‘Broad specialty postgraduate program in Medicine’ will be on the foundation of the calculation of the Marks achieved in the common final year undergraduate examination to be known as the ‘National Exit Test,’ conducted by the National Medical Commission or caused to have been administered by the National Medical Commission. Till the first batch based on the National Exit Test (NExT) becomes qualified for admission in Broad Specialty, the existing system of admission via the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Post-graduate (NEET-PG) as per the Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulation, 2000 (PGMER-2000), will remain in effect.
With the additional caveat that obtaining the minimum qualifying score on the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Super Speciality (NEET-SS) Exam, which is either administered by the National Medical Commission or caused to be administered by it, is the only way to be eligible to pursue a super specialty program or course in medicine. List of feeder broad specialty qualifications needed by a person to pursue a super-specialty course of recognized qualification is as per Annexure.
